Don't know 'til you test it or crack open the system.)įINAL UPDATE 10/3/17: Wow. Some of them are compatible with Twisted Metal, some are not. The CECHA01 you get comes with 1 of 3 different possible motherboards installed, and it's a mystery which one you have. The same PS3 models each come with a variety of possible motherboards. (There's no way of knowing without cracking the system open. I'll switch for a new system from the eBay seller I bought this one from (still under his 30-day warranty) and hope the console I exchange this for has a compatible motherboard. I've concluded the motherboard isn't compatible. External HD w/ BD Mirror and External options checked, didn't get any further at all until YLOD. On Internal HD with BD Mirror and Internal checked, I actually got to the title screen where I was able to select "Single Player"! But then YLOD. UPDATE 8/14/17: Tested with a clean PAL ISO. I'll see if it works, but there were some UK users reporting the same issue, so I doubt it. " I guess my FAT PS3 I just bought has an incompatible motherboard. " Looks like the official word is that less than 1% of the user base is effected and thus Sony is saying its a hardware issue and pretty much buy a new system : / I doubt we will be hearing anything further on sucks guys for sure. Thank you!ĮDIT: OK, I found this "MEGATHREAD" saying that certain motherboards in certain PS3 FAT models lead to the fake YLOD when booting Twisted Metal. If someone has the game successfully running on their CFW, please let me know how you got it to run! And maybe even send your files over to me through Google Drive. (EDIT: Also downloaded the official pkg patches through Multiman with the same results.) I've tried running the game with and without these upgrade patches installed. These patches were downloaded from third-party sources and were released to help get the game working on 3.55 CFW, so I'm unsure if they're even the official patches. I've seen mention of patch 1.00, but have found no live download link for it. To make things more confusing, there are also update patches for the game as well. Had to turn PS3 power switch off and on again). (That time, it just froze the entire system completely.
